We have been involved with the ‘management’ of MTB & Cycle trails for well over 10 years now, working with both the private and public sectors as well as managing our own private Skills Areas. We also assisted to develop and delivered the CTC (now Cycling UK) program of trail inspection courses for the Forestry Commission in England and Wales. This unique experience give us a great pool of experience to include in our trail inspection courses. This one day course (9.30am till 5pm) trains and confirms competency to inspect cycle and MTB trails. Key sections covered on this course include: • Understanding of the Why, the When and the How of cycle trail inspection. • An overview of cycle trail construction and remedial actions. • Developing a safe system of work for cycle trail inspections. • Practical ridden and walked trail inspections. This course trains and confirms competency to inspect cycle and MTB trails. The course provides a qualification to current Forestry Commission/ Natural Resources Wales standards for the inspection of cycle / MTB trails. Plus it's been updated for 2021 with the latest thinking from the Visitor Safety in the Countryside (VSC) regarding members of the public Risk Assessments and frequency of inspections. Will be given a Trail Inspection Book and Health and Safety Awareness Book. Through studying the work book and participating in the practical sessions participants will cover the following topics: • Access law, liability and duty of care • Statutory requirements • Trail grading • Frequency of inspection • Construction Design Management • Risk Assessment • Emergency Access and Egress plan • Lone working • Working on live trails • Personal Protective Equipment (specific for the task) • Report writing • Inspection by bike and foot • Trail elements - Technical Features, Drainage, Construction constraints • Faults and observations For more information please contact us.
