About Bob Campbell

Bob has a calm analytical ability to spot exactly what you are doing and then help you to progress your skills. He has over 3000+hrs ‘MTB skills’ coaching experience behind him. His fun but professional style will put you at ease whether we are pushing you that little bit further, developing your confidence or introducing you to mountain biking for the first time.

Bob has spent most of his lifetime travelling around the world, working, competing and coaching people in the outdoors. As a former World Kayak Champion he also has a unique ‘inside’ depth of knowledge of competitive sports and training.

This lifetime of paddling, mountain biking, mountaineering have given him a wealth of experience while travelling to places such as Norway, North & South America, Europe and Asia have given him a global cultural perspective. This has all combined to build Bob’s insight into the essential skills that underpin a great instructor.

Ally runs our female sessions. She has a confident and fun style. Her depth of knowledge, and ability to identify and communicate key points enable her clients to quickly develop their understanding of the skills and to ride trails, jumps and drops with increased confidence and control.

Ally has also a vast experience of Downhill Endurance Racing and UK Gravity Enduro coming 2nd. So after travelling the past 5 years all around Europe to events giving her a fairly unique female view on this emerging style of riding.

These skills were all built up from spending years travelling around the world doing expeditions to places like Iran, South America and a lot of places in between. Plus Coaching, river guiding and racing at a high standard all round Europe, Asia and Scandinavia. A couple of years ago Ally opted to change paddles to wheels as believe it or not, they cross over very well.

Campbell Coaching philosophy is simple, we try to keep things really progressive and smooth. (You will learn more that way!) Our courses are very relaxed but still professional and we will assess your skills fully before we start to develop your riding with you. They are also split in to key sessions with Video analysis, so you get an idea what we will focus on, however if you are after something a bit different just let us know.

Why do we do it this way? Well over the past 15 years we have both learnt a thing or two about riding bikes. From Downhilling, Playing on Pump Tracks, Jumping, XC, Endurance Racing (Mega Avalanche and Maxi Avalanche)  UK Gravity Enduro and coaching with the Atherton’s.

Also over 25 years of being in the outdoors, kayaking, biking, surfing, looking after each other and our friends and more recently we have focused on coaching others. This progressive approach seams to work really well.

We think you might just be interested in shortcutting some of the mistakes we made, bones we broke and kit we bent or lost!

We run this company as a means of facilitating ‘our lifestyle’ not the other way around so if the riding is good, the surf is up and the weather is good we might just be away for a day. But don’t worry just because we don’t respond to your call or e-mail a couple of seconds after you have sent it, we’re not ignoring you and yes you’re important to us and we WILL get back to you as quickly as we can.

As Campbell Coaching has progressed we also have some of the most highly qualified and experienced CTC Skills & Jumps and Drops Instructors male and female in the UK, so you are guaranteed the very best coaching from us no matter who you are or what level you are at.
